Ruth Ellen Detert

She was born on February 1, 1928 to her parents, Hans and Anna Pederson, in Barrhead, AB. Ruth married Henry Detert on February 28, 1947. They farmed in the Bloomsbury area till they retired and moved to Barrhead, where they lived until Henry’s passing in 1998. Ruth then lived in Brookside, Hillcrest and most recently at Keir Care Center.

Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry; her parents Hans and Anna Pederson; her 5 brothers and 7 sisters including her twin sister, Ruby, and all their spouses. Ruth was also predeceased by Henry’s parents, Fred and Caroline Detert and his sisters, Ella and Gertrude and their spouses.

Ruth is survived by her loving children Harvey (Norma), Myrna (Steve) Stuka, Darlene (Helmut) Ehrenholz, Morris (Brenda), Wayne (Marcia), 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Barrhead Alliance Church on May 21 at 1pm with Pastor Trevor officiating. Visitation from 11:30-12:45 at the church.
