

On January 13, 2025, Tyler passed away suddenly at his home in Onoway, Alberta at the age of 38. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kelly (Gillam) McCoy, and his 4 children, Kaylee, Trace, Kendra and Kelsey. Tyler will be forever missed by all that knew him.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Kevin and Barbara (Heighton) McCoy, and his sister, Pamela McCoy. His mother-in-law Fran (Gillis) Gillam and extended family – including sister-in-laws Sherry and Sandra and brother-in-law Richard, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces and many friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Byron and Annette (Wetmore) McCoy and George and Edna (Challstrom) Heighton and his father-in-law, Derek Gillam.
Tyler worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with the ETS since May of 2018. He was very reliable and very respected by his peers and superiors.
Tyler had a 17 year career with Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Services and served as a Lieutenant since 2011.
He was a very dedicated family man with hugs and cuddles to be the norm. He loved spending time with his family whether camping or at family gatherings.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the paramedics and first responders for their compassionate care and assistance.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 29, 2025 @ 11:00 am. at Alberta Beach Agriplex, 4811 - 46a Ave., Alberta Beach, AB. For those of you wishing to donate, a donation to Stars Air Ambulance, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
