Ashley was born in Macon, Georgia on March 2nd, 1987 to Jim and Karen Hyde. Although she never had children of her own, she always loved being around them and often “borrowed” her friend’s kids. Every year, she organized Halloween Trick or Treating parties for all her friend’s children. She worked as a waitress for the last several years. Before that, she worked at the Children’s Museum of Memphis refurbishing exhibits and appearing in television ads. She also volunteered at the museum for special events assisting children, face painting, and teaching crafts to the young museum visitors. She loved all kinds of music, her favorites included Pearl Jam, TOOL, Pink and Reba McEntire. She could often be found reading or watching one her favorite old TV shows such as I Love Lucy, Golden Girls and Married With Children. She adored animals and owned many cats, lizards, snakes and tarantulas. She would often take her unusual pets to the Children’s Museum for kids to enjoy. In 1990, her brother, Michael, was born. Michael always found a way to make his big sister laugh until she cried.
Ashley is survived by her father Jim, her mother Karen (Bartlett) and her brother Michael (Memphis).
She is preceded in death by her her grandfather Donald Hyde (Paragould), her grandmother Willene White (Macon), uncle Brian Thompson (Macon) aunt Pam Kersey (Macon) and great-grandparents Algie and Wilma Jeter (Paragould)
She is also survived by partner, Mack Gray (Memphis) and her best friend of 25 years, her “ride or die” Amber McCloud. Ashley also leaves behind several young people that loved her very much, Fiona, Lillix, Hunter, Lil Mack, Rebekah and Makayla. She also says goodbye to cats Sade, Jack and Desi.
Ashley was a “wiz” in the kitchen. She could, somehow, managed to cook an amazing meal faster than anyone. Her homemade chicken pot pie and Ritz encrusted salmon will be missed.
