Auline H. LaCagnina

Auline H. LaCagnina, 86, known as Jean to all her family and friends, peacefully passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital on June 11, 2011 following a long illness. She was born on November 29, 1924 in Rosetta, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Henry and Georgia Virginia Brown Havard, all of her siblings, Lloyd, Louie, Cleo, Aubrey, Kenneth, Wanzie Lee, Bernice, Glen, Shelton, Betty Mae and Billy, her baby boy, Richard Wayne Finch and her husband, Alfred U. LaCagnina. She graduated from high school in 1944, attended Wood Junior College in Mathiston, MS, was a telephone operator in Centreville, MS and later became a 2nd grade school teacher. She is survived by three children, Cornelia F. McDaniel (W.C.), Judith L. Gary (Keith), both of Memphis, TN and Deborah S. Beardsley (Rick) of Odessa, FL, Grandson Brian Christopher Gary (Crystal), her first husband Louis Eldon Finch and her long-time companion Woodrow Bates, Sr. The family will receive friends this evening Tuesday June 14th from 5pm – 7pm and funeral services will be Wednesday June 15th at 10 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N.
