

Barbara Jean Chamberlain, 91, passed away September 9, 2025. She was born and raised in Fostoria, Ohio. Barbara was a war time veteran of the United States Navy where she met her love of a lifetime husband, Philip Crandall Chamberlain. They were happily married for 63 years until his death in 2017. After the navy they settled in Jonesboro, Georgia and together they had a son, Philip C Chamberlain II and daughter Valerie Chamberlain Morgan. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and mama (grandmother). Barbara was an avid card player and loved teaching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. After retirement Barbara and Phil sold their home in Georgia and enjoyed their lives traveling the country living full time in their RV for ten years. After they sold their RV, they enjoyed a wonderful life in a retirement community in Avon Park, Florida. Barbara and Phil spent the last 10 years of their lives in the Memphis, Tennessee area enjoying the company of the family they created. Barbara was a devoted Christian that attended Hope Presbyterian Church.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Clyde Fillhart and Ruth Denelda Stykemain Fillhart; husband Philip Crandall Chamberlain, sister Patricia (Dave) Martin, brother Wilbur C. – Jack- Fillhart, and great-grandson Garrett Ivan Chamberlain.
She is survived by her sister Clara (Sheridan) Zimmerman, daughter Valerie (Mike) Morgan, son Philip C. (Trina) Chamberlain II; grandchildren, Philip C. (Jessica) Chamberlain III, William Ivan Chamberlain, Abigail (Clint) Hall, and Justin P. (Samantha) Jaynes; great-grandchildren, Allie-Kate Hall, Philip C. Chamberlain IV, Emma Chamberlain, Jake Hall, Caleb Chamberlain, Nash Chamberlain, Jett Chamberlain, Bailey Rae Jaynes, Luke Jaynes, and Haven Jaynes.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a memorial service conducted at 4:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. 38133.
The family request donations to be made to Alzheimer’s research in her name.
