Barbara Brooks Ferrell, 66, passed away suddenly in a car accident the night of February 9th, 2024. Mrs. Ferrell was a mighty warrior of God, giving generously to many Christian organizations - her favorite being Mylon LeFevrer Ministry - and assisting countless individuals. Barbara was born in Los Angeles, CA but raised Tennessee. The oldest child of Parker and Rena Brooks, Barabara made Memphis her home, graduating from Trezevant High School in 1974. On Valentine’s Day 1974, she went on her first date with her future husband Ray Ferrell. Barbara and Ray were married in November 1974 and made their home in Memphis, TN working closely together to build their family owned business while raising their two children, Brooke and Bret. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Proverbs 31 woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Parker Brooks and Rena Pitts Brooks, grandparents HH Pitts and Roxie Pitts and Edgar Eli Brooks and Nealy Jane Brooks.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Herbert Ray Ferrell; daughter Brooke Ferrell Prince (Justin); son, Bret Ferrell (Lindsey); grandchildren, Ryan Rose Ferrell (11), Jude Chapman Prince, (7) Charley Ruth Ferrell (6), and Gabrielle Barbara Prince (3); sisters, Tammy McCallum (John) and Allison Turner (David); brother, Brady Brooks (Sherri) and three nieces and five nephews.
Our “Biba” (Barbara’s grandmother nickname) will be fondly remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus, her Godly encouragement and her wise counseling. She always enjoyed renovation projects and had a sharp eye for design.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 17th, 2024 from 4-6pm at Ryan & Rose HQ, 7598 AE Beaty, Bartlett, TN 38133.
