Billie Faye Carter

Billie Faye Carter, 83, of Lamar, MS, passed away at her home on July 3rd, 2014. She was retired from Kroger. Mrs. Carter was born in Pontotoc, MS on November 10th, 1930. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester McKnight, and sister, Gladys Taylor. She is survived by her mother, Annie Mae Dowdy of Cordova, TN, sister, Jean Alexander of Cordova, TN, and longtime friend, Harold Branson. She was the mother of three children, Ron (Judy) Carter of Memphis, Marty Carter of Dallas, TX, and Marsha (Chris) Jones of Slayden, MS. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jason Carter of Memphis, Carrie Harris of Memphis, Melissa Norwood of Cordova, Adam Walls of Memphis, Anna Wrenn Borchers of Hawaii, Nicole Carter of Dallas, Jeremy Barnes of Dallas, Brandon Jones and Taylor Jones of Slayden, MS, Jessica Duncan of Selmer, TN, and Aaron Branson of Selmer, TN. She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren: Jackson Carter, Ally Harris, Jayden Harris, Abby Norwood, Spencer Norwood, Jordon Norwood, Walker Walls, Lilly Walls, Christian Walls, Leila Borchers, Henry Borchers, and Allison Branson. The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN on Monday, July 7th beginning at 1:30 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 p.m. with interment in Memorial Gardens.
