Carol was born in Rockford, Illinois, but spent many years living various places with her Military based family. She met Ken in Berlin, Germany while he was stationed there and she was there with her family. Her father was a U.S. Army Lt. Col. Chaplain. They fell in love and were married in 1964. Ken became a helicopter pilot and spent a few more years in the Army before resigning his rank and eventually becoming an air traffic controller in Memphis, Tn. where they have lived since 1970. Carol graduated from Memphis State University with a bachelor's degree in May 1982. She was a class leader in the Bible Study Fellowship, eventually becoming class administrator. Later when her duties taking care of her Mother became greater she joined Community Bible Study. She was a Sunday School Superintendent for a while. We had left the Lutheran Church for a while but she informed me she wanted to return to it. After joining Christ the King we got involved in the Stephen Ministry where she again reached out to help others. Around 2015 the effects of an apparently hereditary disease started to show up in her abilities and reduced her capabilities to lead or be involved in ministries. We moved into a seniors facility in 1922 where help would be available if Ken was not able to take care of her needs. In December of 2024 she was moved to a Memory Care unit but her problems got worse and she passed away on January 6, 2025.
