Charles Lauren Pitman, age 59, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on February 12, 2026.
Born and raised in Memphis, Charles was lovingly raised by his father, Charles Thomas Pitman, and later by Patricia Pitman, whom he cherished and proudly called Mom. Together they shaped the foundation of the man he became — steady, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to those he loved.
Charles had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, who were constant companions and brought him immense joy. He found peace in the outdoors, whether tending to his garden, growing his prized jalapeños and tomatoes, or simply enjoying the sunshine. He had a creative spirit and a gift for working with his hands, from woodworking projects to crafting delicious creations in the kitchen.
A trained pastry chef and graduate of pastry school, Charles expressed his love through food. He especially enjoyed baking and sharing his creations with family and friends. A devoted fan of Starbucks coffee, he rarely passed up a good cup and good conversation.
Charles was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Henry Coleman Pitman and Helen Sproles Pitman, maternal grandparents John and Theda Duke, and one beloved grandchild.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, Charles Thomas Pitman and Patricia Dust Pitman; his daughter, Courtney (Kodie) Bone; and his treasured grandsons, Karson and Conner Bone. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and generous heart. He also leaves behind his faithful four-legged best friend, Cleo, who never left his side.
Charles will forever be remembered for his love of family, his gentle nature, and the simple joys he embraced so fully in life.
Visitation will be held at Bartlett Baptist Church, 3465 Kirby Whitten Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38135, US, on March 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow beginning at 2:00 pm.
