Dave Dixon

Oda David Dixon was recalled on June 2, 2023 after 84 years of service to God and Country. Dave, as he was known by his many friends, was born January 18, 1939 in Clarksdale, MS. He leaves behind his wife, Alice Dixon (Lakeland, TN), of 26 years; daughter, Karen White (Savannah, GA); sons; David Dixon (Germantown, TN) and Dennis Dixon (Memphis, TN). He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Dixon (Memphis, TN), grandchildren, Sean (deceased), Shannon, Tristan, Ashley and Madison, along with six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee M. and Elizabeth Dixon of Southaven, MS; brother, Billy Dixon; and sister Sandra Dixon. Dave was a beloved member of the Sterling Place community in Lakeland, TN where he enjoyed visiting and bringing smiles to the faces of his many friends. He enjoyed golf, and no one had a better looking lawn than he! Dave retired from the Air Force in December 1999 after 33 years of dedicated service. His smiles and laughter will be missed by all.
