Douglas Patrick Wright was born on January 13, 1953 in Conway Arkansas to James and Lora Wright, and the youngest of four children. He had a passion for photography, writing, the scouting program, and had several well respected blogs. Doug was an avid outdoorsman and inherited his mother's love of learning and her interests in gardening, animals and nature. In 1972, he married the love of his life Martha Duckett. He was most proud of his family and was the happiest when he was with his wife, four children and fifteen grandchildren. Many days were spent with "Papa-D" fishing, biking, gardening and going on nature walks where he could identify each plant, insect and animal. Doug was a photographer and writer and had a successful career as a regional sales manager in the graphics industry. He loved to share his testimony of Christ and did so often in precept and example. A friend recently wrote, "Doug was a kind, humorous, gentle, observant, intelligent, loving, faithful, and caring man. He was a friend, a father, a husband and a gentleman. He was artistic, expressive, creative... He was quiet but could laugh with the best of folks. He was smart but could relate to those of us less knowledgeable than he. He was a man who exuded love to others whether you knew him well or not." Doug is preceded in death by his parents James and Lora Wright, and two brothers Jim and Ernie Wright. Doug is survived by his wife Martha, his children, Brett Wright (Kerstin), Melissa Moseley (Brandon), Craig Wright (Katie), Sara Jenson (Bobby), his sister Linda Nooner, and 15 grandchildren- Audrey, Emily, Jackson, and Harrison Wright, Aubrielle, Aria, Bryce and Paris Moseley, Easton and Garet Wright, Brayden, Kailey, Hadley, Jace and Brinley Jenson. Pallbearers for the service are Brett Wright, Craig Wright, Bobby Jenson, Brandon Moseley, Adam Duckett, Chris Nooner, and Honorary Pallbearers Brayden Jenson, Easton Wright, Garet Wright and Bryce Moseley. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 19, 3:00-5:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N Germantown Road, Memphis, TN 38133. The funeral will be held Monday, February 20th, 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 580 Collierville Arlington Road, Collierville, TN 38017.
