D.R. CHESSER, 80, of Memphis, passed away August 29, 2010. D.R. was a member of Faith Baptist Church, he served in the United States Navy and was a retired Baptist Preacher. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad and a member of the United Transportation Union for 60 years. D.R. volunteered for Methodist Hospital, Westminster Village and with security at Bellevue Woods and at Bellevue Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Faye Chesser; daughters Judith K. Dyer (Richard), Donna Meadows, Patricia Jones (Joe Michael); sister Alma Lorene Bowyer of OR; brother Clark Chesser of OR; six grandchildren David Andrew Dyer, Karen King, Kim Rogers, Carrie Meadows, Jeremiah Jones, Timothy Dyer and 17 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 31 from 12 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. with burial to follow all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (formerly Memory Hill Gardens).
