
Faye 'Pooh' Marie Lott Grooms of Bartlett, TIN, and Venice, FL, 99, passed away on March 24, 2025, at Advinia Skilled Nursing in Venice, FL. She was born July 19,1925, to Orbie and Daisy Plunk Lott in Adamsville, TN. She grew up in Hardin County, TN, and attended Adamsville High School. She moved to Bartlett, TN, with her young family in 1951.
She was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church for 72 years surviving many of her precious friends. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, ministering to anyone in need.
Faye grew up on a farm and loved the outdoors. She grew her own vegetables for over 50 years in her large backyard garden at her home in Bartlett and shared her crops with family, neighbors, and friends. She rode a bicycle into her late 80s and drove her big Buick until she was 93. She got the nickname "Pooh" from her first grandchild, Terri, who grew up loving "Winnie the Pooh" thus she became "Pooh" for the next 60 years to her family and friends.
Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and precious friend. She leaves behind daughter Martha Ann Grooms Thweatt Herri-man of Venice, FL, son Danny Wayne Grooms (Sandy) of Bartlett, TN, granddaughter Terri Lynn Thweatt Safdari (Nick) of St. Louis, MO, Grandson Daniel Grooms of Bartlett, TN, great grandson Nicholas Jens Jensen III of St. Louis, MO, great granddaughter Marceline Holland Grooms of Bartlett, TN, sister Wilma Nell Lott of Lawton, TN, 9 nephews, 12 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orbie and Daisy Plunk Lott, husband, James Lawson Grooms, brothers Marshall, Raymond, Hugh Ray, Hershel, and sisters Effie May, Mary Ruth.
A celebration of life and a 100th birthday party luncheon will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN, 38133, on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 am.
The family request memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN, honoring her great grandson, Nicholas Jensen, who is a 28 year St. Jude
cancer survivor.
Interment will be next to her precious husband, James, at Memphis Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN, 38133, immediately following the service and luncheon.
