Geraldine worked in public service at the IRS until she retired. She enjoyed helping people and wanted to stay active so she began working at Dillards with her husband.
She was an avid gardener. She grew everything from roses, to tomatoes, onions and okra. The things she grew, she cooked in the kitchen for her family to enjoy. Along with gardening, she was a master seamstress. Many of the dresses and clothes her children & grandchildren wore, she made.
Geraldine was married to her childhood sweetheart Warren Mulford for 73 years before he was taken to his heavenly home. At a young age, Warren sat next to his future wife during a church service despite her father’s wishes. His strong feelings toward her grew into a lifelong commitment.
Geraldine was known to her grandchildren & great grandchildren as Mama Geri.
She is survived by her grandson, Matthew Embry (Charlie), granddaughter Hannah Palmer (Zachary); great-grandsons Liam Embry and Lincoln Embry; great-granddaughter Embry Rose Palmer, brother, Tommy Beal, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Larry Mulford and daughter Tammi Mulford Embry.
A gathering of family and friends for Geraldine will be held Monday, September 9, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A celebration of life will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
