

She was born on January 6, 1960, in Grenada, Mississippi, to the late Christine Clariett and the late Sam Chism. Gloria devoted her life to caring for others as a registered nurse for 36 years and as a loving, devoted wife and mother of her three children. Her compassion, dedication, and gentle spirit touched countless lives throughout her career.
Gloria found joy in her faith and was deeply committed to her daily devotionals and her Bible study fellowship. She loved gardening, traveling the world, cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and Pittsburgh Steelers, and listening to uplifting Christian music. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, John Myers; her children, Christopher Myers, Carrie Catron, and Joshua Myers; her son in law Travis Catron; her grandson, Noah Catron; and her brothers, Terrence Clariett, Frank Clariett, Steve Chism, and Jeffrey Chism. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Christine Clariett and Sam Chism, and her brother, Tony Clariett, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service to honor Gloria’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, with reception to follow. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Serita Myers, Ashley Butler, Amber Myers, Dorothy Williams, Tina White, Sandra Wilson, Linda Earley, Lindsay Conner, Stephanie Rankin, Mary Bruce, and her compassionate neighbors for their love, care, and support during this time.
Gloria’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
