

Harry Nicholson, 78, of Memphis, went to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Collierville, TN. Mr. Nicholson was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church and retired as plant manager of Witco Chemical Corp. after 41 years. He was a 1955 graduate of Bolton High School, where he was all-city and all-county in Baseball and Basketball. Mr. Nicholson was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved coaching Baseball and Basketball, most notably coaching for the American Legion baseball team. He made a huge impact on many young people in the Memphis area. Mr. Nicholson is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hilda Nicholson, four children, Barry Nicholson (Mary), Gary Nicholson (Linda), Beth Rooks (Ed), and Jerry Nicholson (Tress), as well as nine grandchildren, Ashley Nicholson, Jerrad Nicholson, Blake Nicholson, Kurt Nicholson, Kyle Nicholson, Heath Rooks, Hayden Rooks, Drew Nicholson, and Luke Nicholson, and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Emma and Carter Nicholson. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 3 from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2 p.m., all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
