Hiram C. Allison, affectionately known as "Papaw" a 92 year old Army Veteran of World War II, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and caretakers. Hiram was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 where he was joyfully reunited with his wife of 57 years, Anita H. Allison. Hiram was a loving and devoted father and grandfather who adored his family and friends, and he cherished the times spent with them. Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving and devoted children, one daughter, Diane Ganeles, one son, Stephen C. (Mari) Allison, four grandchildren, Drew Ganeles, Chris Ganeles, Britney (Wesley) Holliman, and Lacey Allison, one great granddaughter, Gracie Holliman, two sisters, Juanita Nabors and Jenelle (James) Biffle, and a host of other relatives and friends. He also leaves his beloved dog "Tippy." Family will receive friends at the visitation on Sunday, June 11th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, June 12th, at 2 p.m. with Rick Shepherd officiating at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133, and Interment at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh-LaGrange, Memphis, TN 38134.
