

Isaac Matrowitz Gardeazabal, of Cordova, TN passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at the age of 27. He was born in São Paulo, Brazil, moved to Mainz, Germany with his parents and siblings in October 1997 and had dual German-Brazilian citizenship. Isaac moved again in October 2004 to Memphis, TN with his parents and siblings. He finished high school and learned his professional trade in the construction field. He knew how to fix sheetrock, lay tile and hardwood, paint, etc. Isaac gained American citizenship after marrying to Jordan Leigh. (Divorced now) He joined the National Guard and was eventually deployed to Afghanistan and served honorably for 6 years in the military where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Isaac was a member of the Christian Congregation in Brazil and Baptized in the Christian Congregation in Germany in 2001. He often played saxophone in church and continued being a member of the Christian Congregation in the United States. He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Karl Heinz Willi Matrowitz and Mario Gardeazabal Barriga and his grandmother Hanna Helga Matrowitz. Isaac is the son of Ingrid Matrowitz Gardeazabal (54) and Jorge Mario Gardeazabal Conde (55) who live in Memphis, TN. And is also survived by his sisters: Rebeca (30), Sahra (28) both live in Mainz, Germany now and Debora (26) who lives in Jolliet, IL.; one son, Wilson Bryant Gardeazabal, born June 22nd, 2012; and a brother, Daniel (31) lives in Memphis, TN. A funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday evening, June 16 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Interment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Friday morning at 10 a.m., with Military honors.
