Jackson Raymond Benson, retired ironworker from Ironworkers Local 167 and Memphis fireman, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015, at the age of 91. He served in Patton’s Doughboys in the Army during WWII. He loved fishing, flowers, Coca-Cola, and helping others. He was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Ann Benson, and two sons Robert Joseph and Gerald Lee Benson. He leaves his wife Dorothy of 69 years, his two sons Jackson Luther (Sue), James Michael Benson (Jeannie), five grandchildren Jennifer Murphy, Jackson David Benson, Joseph Benson, Suzanne Benson, Jessica Bateman and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm, Sunday, November 8, 2015, with funeral services at 2pm, on Monday, November 9, 2015, with interment to follow all to be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorials Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133.
