Jacqueline Reed Gandy

Jacqueline Reed Gandy, 74, of Memphis passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017. She was a graduate of Messick High School, worked for VitreoRetinal Foundation for 23 years as an insurance claims processor, volunteered as a tutor with the Memphis City School System - Our Children, Our Future tutoring program, Brinkley Heights Urban Ministry and Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home. Attended Temple Baptist Church and Leawood Baptist Church – Macon Campus where she was active as a Missions Leader, Sunday School and VBS teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrell and Emma Reed; sisters, Norma Virginia Reed and June Sanders. Mrs. Gandy is survived by her children, Jon Gandy (Alicia) of Rockwell, NC, Joi Gandy of Memphis, TN, Jason Gandy (Donna) of Morganton, NC; grandchildren, Alan Gandy of Charlotte, NC and Ashley Stepter Haneghan (Bryan) of San Diego, CA; sisters, Gloria Zotkiewicz of Memphis, TN and Rosemary Stafford of Carlsbad, CA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN with a reception to follow concluding services at Memphis Funeral Home-Poplar Chapel.
