

JAMES FARRIS ARMSTRONG died at his home in Bartlett, on Saturday, March 23, 2013. James loved his family above all things. He was an accomplished carpenter and he loved to create furniture and anything to make someone smile. James loved growing and tending to his garden and spending time outdoors. He loved cooking and grilling a great meal. He loved to catch a trout - usually the first on any excursion. He had a successful career as an automotive parts department salesman and was a distinguished man amongst his peers and many in the automotive industry.
James is survived by his wife; Denise Murray Armstrong, daughter; Jaime Renee Armstrong Fish, son; Shannon Isaac Armstrong, Jaime's three daughters; Hazel Marie Fish, Rainee BreAnne Fish and Windie Aleen Fish, and Shannon's son; Riley Patrick Armstrong all of Bartlett TN. James has three siblings; brothers Marvin Armstrong of Carthage MS, Emmette Armstrong of Sallas MS; sister Sybil Armstrong of Osaka Japan. many nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
James was preceded in death by his sister Claudine Armstrong, a brother Gerald Armstrong, his mother Jessie Alta Hodges Armstrong, and father Claude L. Armstrong
Memorial Services will be held on April Fifth from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm at Memphis Funeral Home 3700 N. Germantown Road and Saturday April Sixth from 2:00 to 4:30 at New Hope Baptist Church at 5216 Attala Road in Kosciusko MS. Live plants are appreciated for use in a memorial garden.
