James L. Fischer, 49, of Cordova, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Fischer, and siblings Margie Mertsch and Joseph Fischer. Mr. Fischer is survived by his son Cody Fischer, siblings Kevin Fischer (Jeanette), Thomas Fischer (Kathy), Jerry Fischer, Patrick Fischer (Lou Anne), Mary Ann McCaleb, and Kathy Chappell (Mike), mother Eileen Fischer, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Fischer loved to play soccer. He was on the Tennessee State ODP Team and the Vagrants. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan since he was originally from St. Louis. But most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Komen Race for the Cure Foundation. The family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Friday, September 6 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. There will be a funeral on Saturday also at the funeral home at 2pm.
