James Douglas Ginn, 32, passed away on February 24, 2018 at his home. James was born on October 24, 1985 in Memphis, TN. James worked as a Mate for Western Rivers Boat Management, where he most frequently rowed on the Earl Etheridge. James graduated from Fayette Academy High School and attended the University of Memphis. James spent many years working at Lakeside Behavioral Health, where he was influential in the lives of many, as a community counselor and also worked as an EMT-IV.
To the chagrin of his father (a lifelong Steeler’s Fan), James loved the Dallas Cowboys. James also loved the Memphis Grizzlies where he worked home games as an EMT-IV, the Florida Gators, and anything related to Marvel Comics. However, James’ favorite superhero came from DC Comics… Superman.
More than anything and of all these things combined, James loved his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Elaine Morton, his father Doug Ginn (Rebecca) and Deborah Ginn, as well as siblings, Ellen, John, Christina, Loren, and Kristina. James was predeceased by his beloved brother Bryant (2007). James is also survived by his sweet “Bella”, his devoted canine companion. James was a beloved son, brother (Bubba) and friend to countless many. He will be profoundly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 1st, at 11 am with a memorial service to follow and reception thereafter at 1pm St Paul’s Methodist Church; 2949 Davies Plantation Rd. James will be interred at Memorial Gardens next to his brother Bryant at 3700 N Germantown Pkwy.
