

James Monroe Kellon, 80, of Southaven, Mississippi, passed away on March 8, 2017. Jim was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on August 10, 1936 to the late John and Geneva Kellon. Mr. Kellon was a graduate of Bartlett High School. He married the love of his life, LaVerne Kellon in June of 1957. In 1962, Mr. Kellon founded Kellon Insurance Agency where he remained as CEO until his passing. Jim was a past president of Miller Point Rod and Gun Club and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. His love for hunting took him on an African safari, an Alaskan bear hunt, and a hunting excursion in the northwest territory of Canada. He was a long-time member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Mr. Kellon is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, LaVerne Kellon; his siblings, Randy Kellon (Nancy) and Jeannie Brock (Harrison); his children, Cheryl Addison (Ted) and Tim Kellon (Diane); four grandchildren, Ted Addison III (Jennifer), Stacy Harmeier (Nick), Sarah Kellon, and Savannah Kellon; and two great-grandchildren, Betty Jean Harmeier and Claira Addison. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12 at twelve o'clock until the time of funeral services at two o'clock at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Committal services will follow at Memorial Gardens on Germantown Road in Bartlett.
