

He was born on September 13, 1978, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Faith Whitmore Grinder and Johnny I. Grinder. John was the loving father of Savannah and Owen Grinder, of Olive Branch, Mississippi. They were his greatest treasures.
He married Caitlin Pemberton Grinder on October 29, 2022.
John graduated from White Station Optional High School in 1996 and attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He was a talented craftsman who loved to work with his hands alongside his business associates who he held dear to his heart at G & V Concrete Specialist.
An avid outdoorsman, John could be found in a deer stand, duck blind, fishing boat, in the Rockies with his snowboard, or just enjoying his backyard oasis. A self-taught guitarist, John was known to entertain family and friends with his musical talent. If you ever had the chance to eat a meal prepared by John, you know it was "The Best Ever!"
John Asa is survived by his wife, Caitlin; his children, Savannah and Owen Grinder; his parents, Faith and Johnny Grinder; his sister, Jessica Grinder Weinstein (Harris); nephews, Jonah and Sam Weinstein, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are like family.
The family will accept visitors at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens,
3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133 on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 1:30 in the afternoon. Graveside service to follow.
