He was born to the late John Sr. and Wanda Kormann on August 7th, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968-1972. He earned recognition for his bravery and service in Vietnam. He worked as an office equipment repairman/computer service technician through his working years.
John was known for his warm smile, kind heart, outgoing personality, and the love he had for his family. He never met a stranger, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He found great joy through his volunteer work with the Orpheum Theatre (PHOTO), Wonders Exhibits, Pink Palace, the Memphis Zoo, church outreach events, and playing Santa Claus at various school and community events.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Phillip Kormann and James Kormann.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma Kormann; his daughter, Jennifer Michael (Keith); granddaughter, Olivia Michael; his siblings, Paul Kormann, Gary Kormann (Loretta), Phyliss Hopkins, Anthony Kormann (Charlotte); and his mother in law, Imogene Ritchie.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A private service will be held on Saturday, February 27th at 2:00pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN.
