John D. Walls, 72, of Cordova, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 29, 2014. He retired from MLGW with 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Arley Walls and a brother, Kenneth Walls. Mr. Walls is survived by his loving wife, Cherly L Walls, daughters, Beth Gaines and Karen Flowers, son, John Walls, Jr., 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 2 step-children, Kevin Smith and David Smith, and two siblings, Gerald Walls and Lois Pierini. Mr. Walls loved the outdoors, golf and Memphis football. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, January 2 from 10-12pm with the funeral starting at 12pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. There will be refreshments served during the visitation time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to St. Jude Cancer Research.
