Joseph Read Eldridge

Joseph was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 14, 1944, one of five children born to the late Richard & Madelyn Eldridge. He graduated from Memphis Catholic High School before joining the United States Navy. Upon return from the Navy, Joe joined the Memphis Police Department where he served for 33 years until he retired as a Captain. He was a graduate of Memphis State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.

He married Adele Marie Driskell in December of 1968. Together they had three children: Christine Claire (Brad) Eakin of Oakland, Tennessee, Joseph "Joey" Richard Eldridge of Apollo Beach, Florida and Selina Marie (Sam) Trouy of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joseph is also survived by his six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brothers William Eldridge and Christopher Eldridge, and his sister Cherie Campbell.

Along with his parents, Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Delgado.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 11th beginning at 1:00 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2:00 p.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
