I am so sorry for your loss. Working with Joe was a privilege.  He was so brilliant, funny, generous, and kind. He was also very wise and supportive in his deep-calm way.  He taught me so much over the years when he didn’t have to. He will be sorely missed.

I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Joseph's family. He was an extraordinary individual, and his memory will never be forgotten. I have many fond memories of Joseph, particularly from the Halloween party in Naples where I met him with my sister. We would often visit him in the evenings, and he would always welcome us with a smile. He even taught us how to make a traditional American dessert with chocolate glaze, which was a true delight. I will always treasure the memories I shared with Joseph, and I will remember him always with a smile on his face. He will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace, Joseph.

When I was a Patient Advocate, Joe was always available to me for questions I may have had because he was a Patient Advocate prior to going to the Group Practice manager position.

Sending condolences to your family on the loss of your husband, father, son and brother.  Joseph was a colleague at the VA Hospital and was a knowledgeable and valuable resource.  His kindness, patience and willingness to help were greatly appreciated and made the VA a better place to work.  He will be missed.

Joe hosted me for a whole year while I was living in America. He gave me a place to stay, a space to grow, and a chapter of my life that I’ll never forget. That time shaped me, and I’m proud of where I am today—Joe was a part of that.

I still remember the BBQ nacho nights. That was our thing. We’d sit down, eat together, and watch something on TV. It was simple, but it meant a lot. I haven’t had BBQ nachos like that since. That was the best I’ve ever had, and I haven’t found anything that comes close.

I also remember the times we washed the car together—it sounds simple, but it was actually one of the best ways we connected. Joe taught me how to wash the car properly, how to take care of the backyard, and I still don’t understand why American people love cutting grass almost every day—but I kind of enjoyed it. Thank you for your beautiful house, your amazing backyard, and that swimming pool—I really loved it. And I’ll never forget the first time I saw snow in my life. That was something special.

Even now, I miss those moments. It’s quiet now, but in that quiet, there are memories—good memories that I’ll always carry with me.

Thank you, Joe, for everything. For your kindness, your laughter, your home, and your heart.
I miss you. And I always will.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Joe.  I had the pleasure of working with Joe for the past 10 years at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center, first as my Administrative Officer and later in his position as the medical center’s Group Practice Manager.  Not only was Joe a dedicated and hardworking colleague, he also was a kind and generous person. He will be missed.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts are with his wife Melinda, his children and the entire Menser family.  May you find comfort in the memories you shared with Joe and the honorable legacy he leaves behind.
