Joseph Schingle

Joseph A. Schingle, 81, of Cordova, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Bartlett on Monday, August 15, 2011. He was a retired training supervisor with New York Life, volunteer tax preparer, helped at the soup kitchen, was a certified Life Underwriter, was a member of the Kiwanis Club and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mr. Schingle, the husband of Bernie Joan Schingle for 59 years, also leaves his sons, Michael J. Schingle of Ft. Morgan, CO, David M. Schingle of Las Vegas, NV, Richard T. Schingle of Thornton, CO and Paul L. Schingle of Chicago, IL; sisters, Julia Gilliland of Olive Branch, MS and Lillian Reno of Overland Park, KS; brothers, Louis Schingle of Byhalia, MS, John Schingle of Irving, TX and Frank Schingle of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Lillian V. Schingle. A memorial mass will be said at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 18 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A short visitation time will begin at 9:30 a.m. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, any hospice organization or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
