Judy was born on June 30, 1958, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to James David McGee and Doris June McGee. In 1971, she and her family moved to Shelby County, where she spent the remainder of her life. She graduated from Raleigh-Egypt High School in 1976.
Judy was known for her strong work ethic and warm spirit. She began her career at Wendy’s, where she worked her way up to a management position. Later, she found a new calling in newspaper delivery at The Commercial Appeal— a job she took great pride in and held for many decades. She loved her patrons deeply and was cherished by many in the community for her dedication and friendly nature.
She is survived by her loving sister, Jewell Lee Floyd; her niece, Michelle (Ryan) Smith, and their three children—Kenson, Makena, and Kaidan; and her nephew, Harvey Jr. (Chelsea) Floyd. Judy was preceded in death by her father, James David McGee; her mother, Doris June McGee; and her brother, James David McGee Jr.
Judy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, both near and far. Her kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength touched many lives.
In honor of Judy’s love for animals and her personal journey, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to any dog rescue organization of your choice.
The graveside service will be held Wednesday June 18th 2025 at 10:00AM
