Laura Morris Bowden, 71, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Laura lived a life full of love, faith, and quiet strength.
Born on November 9, 1953, Laura was the daughter of Charles and Eva Morris, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, William Tate Bowden. Despite profound losses, Laura’s resilience and grace touched all who knew her.
Laura is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Abby Bowden, and her cherished grandchildren, Mollie, Baker, and Brody, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind three loving sisters; Becky (Andy) Reynolds, Melinda (Andy) Pinner, Melanie (David) Wright, six nieces & nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, countless cousins, family, and friends.
Laura dedicated over 30 years of her career to Binswanger Glass, where she was a valued and respected colleague. She also shared her talents and warm personality as a fragrance representative for 20 years and enjoyed every minute of it.
A woman of deep faith, Laura loved Jesus with all her heart. Her spiritual strength was the foundation of her life, and she radiated kindness and compassion wherever she went. Whether she was tending to her flower beds, sharing her musical talents, or cheering on her son as he played and coached football for the Bartlett Panthers, Laura found joy in the simple and meaningful moments.
Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the faith she modeled, and the family she nurtured. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A memorial visitation to celebrate Laura’s life will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Pkwy on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM and a graveside service on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Shiloh Cemetery in Covington, TN.
