Lt. James H. Hightower, 45, of Millington, TN passed away Friday, April 7, 2017. He was a lieutenant with the Memphis Fire Department for 22 years where he received two medals of bravery during his tenure. Lt. Hightower was also a member of Tennessee Task Force One, loved camping and spending time with his children. He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Hightower; and is survived by his wife, Gena Hightower of Millington; children, A.J. Hightower and Ryan Hightower of Millington; father, Danny Hightower, Sr. (Anne) of Campbell, MO; brother, Danny Hightower, Jr. (Kelly) of Memphis, TN; sister, Kaylyn Hightower of Campbell, MO; nephews and nieces, Mitchell, Sarah, Rachel and Dylan. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133 under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133.
