Our mama entered the Gates of Heaven Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022. She led a full life of devotion to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Born Lydia Mae Godsey April 16, 1931 in Dublin, MS to Dick Marlon Godsey and Minnie Mae Phillips Godsey. She married William “Bill” Oscar Clark January 13, 1951 in Memphis, TN. She is survived by her children Billy Clark and wife Marilyn, Debbie Kirkland, Ricky Clark and wife Eden, Chuck Clark, and Michelle Cavallo.
She was adored by her 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She lovingly cared for many foster children and nurtured countless babies in her home for over 40 years. Her influence was great and mighty affecting a countless multitude. All called her “Meemaw” and had a bond with her that was very special. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Clark, a sister Elwanda Godsey Hudson, twin brother Marlon Godsey, and brothers Vernon Godsey and Don Godsey and a grand daughter Rose Marie Clark.
She leaves us with a beautiful legacy of living life well, always putting Christ first and constantly being in conversation with Him and setting aside time daily for Bible study and specific prayer times as well. All who knew her will miss her dearly.
Family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, April 16th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
