Mary was a trailblazer that loved serving her community. She served in the United States Navy at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, Massachusetts. She also served in the Cub and Boy Scouts as well as a Lay Eucharistic Minister with the Episcopal Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, James Crawford; Sister JoNan Ekendahl; Brothers-in-Law, Melvin Peters and Kenneth Ekendahl.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Bruce Crawford and his wife Dorian; Granddaughter, Emma Crawford; Sister, Toni Peters; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather to receive friends Sunday, March 24th from 1 - 2 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. A life celebration service will follow at 2 PM, also at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Mary's name to MIFA and Overton Park Conservancy.
