HELEN NOLAN LYONS, 91, of Memphis, died peacefully November 18, 2010 at the Ave Maria Home in Bartlett, TN with her family at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas J. Lyons Sr. She leaves one sister, Virginia Lynskey of Chattanooga, TN and ten children, Tom Jr. (Cathy), John (Terry), Kathy, Danny (Claudia), Patti Henley, Gracie Taylor (Curt), Mike (Carol), Tim, Bill (Pam) and Bobby. She leaves 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lyons was born July 15, 1919 in Chattanooga, TN. She was a graduate of UT Chattanooga with a degree in Sociology. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was loved by everyone she met. Her home was a warm and welcoming place for all who entered. Visitation will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., on Sunday, November 21 at 6 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10 a.m. with burial in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, formerly Memory Hill Gardens.
