Mary Hess, 82, of Memphis, TN, passed away June 29, 2015. She was retired from the Department of Defense where she worked for many years as a certified contract negotiator. She was very dedicated to her children; as a single mother, she was the best mother and father to her children. She was a member of the altar guild at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, was computer savvy, extremely independent, and incredibly loving. She is survived by her five children: Ramona McNeal (Charles), Sandy Long (Phillip), Terry Dyer (Tommy), Karen Myatt (Ronald), and Bill Stotts (Chrissie). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cordova on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
