Matthew James Rodriguez

Matthew James Rodriguez, 24, of Memphis passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Regional One in Memphis. He was a Master Mechanic for Gossett Kia – Memphis. Matt enjoyed the outdoors and appreciated the simple things in life. He wanted only the best for his family and friends. He was baptized on June 2, 1991. Matthew is survived by the love of his life, Holly Thompson and their son, Elijah West Rodriguez of Memphis; father, Eddie Rodriguez of Bartlett; mother, Joni Posey and stepfather, John Posey of Bartlett; brother, Kyle Walker and sister-in-law, Candice Walker of Bartlett; sister, Leah Rodriguez of Bartlett; grandfather, Kent Cox and step-grandmother, Anne Ayers of Memphis; step-grandmother, Jane Cox of Bartlett; grandmother, Gloria Barnes and grandfather, James W. Barnes of Tampa, FL; and great-grandmother, Mercedes Robles Rodriguez of Tampa, FL. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jean Williamson; and paternal great-grandfather, Henry Rodriguez. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church, 6033 Old Brownsville Rd, Memphis, TN 38135.
