

Michael Glen Davis, 36, died in an automobile accident Friday, April 5, 2013 at Starkville, MS. He was born November 15, 1976 in Memphis, TN to father, Walter W. Davis, Jr. and mother Peggy Davis of Oakland, TN. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Franklin, daughter, Isabella Christine (Isa) Davis, the light of his life and the sparkle in his eye, and sister, Leslie Davis, of Memphis, TN. He also leaves his “second parents” Jo and Glen Davis, Jennifer’s mother, Jo Franklin, and father, Johnny Franklin, and his wife, Carol Ann Franklin all of Jackson, MS. Michael grew up in Memphis and attended Christ the King Lutheran School and White Station High School. He worked in the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning trades in the Mid-South. He had many friends, was well liked, and was held in high esteem by his fellow tradesmen. At the time of his death he was the Safety Manager for Pierce Construction and Maintenance Co., Inc. His family is actively involved with the Petal United Methodist Church, Petal, MS where they reside. He was a loving son, brother, husband, and father. His happiest times were those spent visiting with extended family, remembering and telling stories, and sharing a good meal. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the woods and fishing, especially with his best friend and cousin, Matthew Davis. Michael cherished the time spent sharing his love of the outdoors with his loving wife and his adoring daughter. Family and friends will forever miss him.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133. Visitation begins at 2:00 with the funeral service at 3:00. Family friend, Reverend David Weatherly, will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
