Michael Wayne Wiseman, 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on February 5, 1951. He moved to Millington, Tennessee in his youth and graduated from Frayser High School in 1968. He served in the United States Navy Reserve on an aircraft carrier as a mechanic. He spent his work career at Bell South Telecommunication for 31 years, then worked at Network Telephone and Nuvox until his retirement in March 2017.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. He loved to golf, play cards with his friends and go on as many cruises as he could. He also enjoyed playing slots at the casinos and cheering on the Memphis Tigers. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Betty Mae McAllister Wiseman and Jackson Witcher Wiseman, his brother Gary Wiseman and his late wife, Barbara A. Wiseman.
He is survived by his son Michael J. Wiseman (Amber), his daughter Brittany Wiseman, his loving partner of 24 years, Judy Whitehorn, his sister Debra Smith, and extended family members, Jeff and Misty Whitehorn, Paul Whitehorn and Perri Segerson. He also had 7 grandchildren: Jackson, Addison, Blake, Harlan, Charlie, Emmie, Jonathan and Kailyn.
Family and friends will gather from one o'clock in the afternoon until funeral services begin at two o'clock in the afternoon all at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133. Burial will follow in Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
