Milton was born on May 2, 1953 right here in Memphis, Tennessee. Milton was one of six children born to the late Sallie Mae & Alma Carter. He attended Lester High School.
Mr. Carter worked and retired as a supervisor for Competition Cams here in Memphis.
When not at work he was working on his race car, an El Camino, that he took to Memphis Motor Sports Park many times. He and Gloria enjoyed riding around the town on their Harley Davidson. When not on the Harley or at the race track, he loved to be at home with family, playing games on his computer but especially barbequing and watching the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Along with his parents, Milton was also preceded in death by his son Melvin Carter.
Mr. Carter's memory is lived on through his wife of 32 years Gloria J. Carter; his children Maneka (Marvin) Cooper, Latarsha (Oscar) Baker, Rhonda (Sadi) Boolos and Milton (Champaign) Harris; daughter-in-law Teresa Carter; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his siblings Malcolm (Patricia) Carter, Alma Jean White, Neida Murphy, Mary Ann "Nancy" (Nate) Taylor, Sammy Lee Nelson and Marquita Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends who all loved him and will cherish their memories of him.
