Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Nancy grew up on a family farm near Madelia in southern Minnesota. Her family later moved to Cadet, Missouri, and then settled in Memphis, Tennessee.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Russell and June Buckman, and her brothers, Joseph Buckman and Mark Buckman. She is survived by her brother Steven Buckman.
Nancy dedicated her life to teaching children with special needs. A lifelong educator, she taught in several locations across the United States and spent several rewarding years in the Virgin Islands. Her final teaching position was in Austin, Texas, where she lived for many years before returning to Memphis.
Nancy was a faithful member of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church.
A gathering in Nancy's memory will be held on Monday, April 27th at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens located at 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN, 38133.
