She was born in Oran, Missouri on August 13, 1926 to Charley and Flora Speer and passed away on February 10, 2026. During her childhood she experienced the hardships of the Great Depression. Later, as a young adult she supported the war effort by driving a forklift and unloading crates of ammunition at the Tooele Army Depot in Utah. After the war, she worked at various factories in Missouri and Illinois including Sealtest Ice-Cream, Ring Can and a jelly factory.
Her second marriage was to Bill Davis, the love of her life. They traveled from California to Pennsylvania as he worked on the pipeline that contributed to the expanding oil infrastructure.
Although she was unable to have children of her own, Perdenia’s love, warmth, and acceptance blessed the lives of countless nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers – many felt honored to think of her as a mother figure. Her faith and devotion to prayer gave her strength throughout her life. Despite personal trials, her gentle smile, cheerful heart and compassionate nature consistently drew her towards those who needed encouragement, friendship, or comfort.
May she rest peacefully in the Savior’s care.
