Randal Thomas “Randy” Sharp, 65, of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, Feb 28, 2018 at his residence. Randy was born on June 6th, 1952 in Memphis, TN to the late Ray and Nell Sharp. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. Randy served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was an accomplished golfer throughout his life. Randy won tournaments as a junior golfer and went on to play high school and college golf. Randy and his late twin brother Ricky won golf tournaments together and were well known in Memphis for their golfing prowess. Randy was a scoring volunteer for many years at the FedEx St. Jude classic. He co-founded the GLI golf tournament that benefited junior golf in Memphis. He was co-president at Ray F Sharp lumber company and a member of the lumberman’s club of Memphis. He later became an Insurance Broker. Randy was well liked and always fun to be around. He never met a stranger and was always said to have a big heart. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Sharp; and is survived by his daughter, Ann Sharp Lesley of Germantown, TN; son, Ray F Sharp III of Memphis, TN; sister, Becky Fields of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Evelyn Lesley, Ray Sharp IV and Madeline Lesley. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until mass at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Rd., Memphis, TN 38117 with the interment to follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Louis Catholic Church in memory of Randy.
