

He was raised in McKenzie, Tennessee and played football for the McKenzie Rebels. Served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963 with an honorable discharge in 1963. Mr. Miller retired after 27 years from Sears were he was a service technician.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents Dorsey and Helen Miller, brother David Miller; daughter Bonita Larue Miller, son Joey Waymire and grandson Kyle Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Loretta Higginbotham Miller; four children: Richard Miller Jr. "Rick", Melanie Miller, Angie Waymire, and Jake (Brandie) Waymire; and daughter in law Debra Waymire; eight grandchildren Brandon, Amanda, Ashley, Dalton, Trey, Jacob, Heather and Samantha; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Richard was an honorable, loyal and loving man. He loved to travel with his wife Loretta and they were a part of the Canoe Club and the Escapee Club for many years. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA.
He loved his grandchildren and laughed with them often. He will always be remembered as the "Greatest Papa Bear".
He loved his many friends and coworkers. He spoke very highly of them all.
Richard never met a stranger, and always greeted them with a smile. Richard could fix anything and was very proud of his work.
We will miss you Papa Bear, you were loved by us all.
