Ricky J. Swatley, 52, of Bartlett, died December 28, 2010. He is survived by Ginger Swatley, married for 22 years, Mary Katherine Swatley and Beth Murdock, daughters, and his mother, Mary Swatley. He leaves two sisters: Brenda Kennedy of Franklin, TN and Teresa Glaser of Memphis and four brothers; Jerry Swatley of Ripley, MS, Danny Swatley of Arlington, Tommy Swatley of Bartlett, and Terry Swatley of Collierville, six nieces and nine nephews. He was a graduate of Skyview Baptist Academy, attended Northeast Mississippi Junior College and became a Memphis police officer. Mr. Swatley was a Sergeant with the Memphis Police Aviation Unit and served on the TACT unit. We are grateful for his 28 years of service with the Memphis Police Department. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 30 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Services will be at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 4063 Sykes Road, Millington, TN on Friday, December 31 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Children’s Miracle Network.
