Robert Edward Carson, 89, of the Bartlett area passed away January 3 at St. Francis Bartlett. Mr. Carson was the son of Walter and Lois Carson and the loving husband of Mildred Carson for 53 years, whom he now rejoins. Mr. Carson was a longtime and very active member of Grimes Memorial UMC. He went on numerous missions trips across the U.S., assisting on building projects, and serving those in need. He and his wife were 38 year season ticket holders at UT Knoxville. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Carson leaves his son Ross; daughter, Gail Shelly (Mike); brothers, Glenn Carson (Ruth), John Carson (Dot), and Paul Carson (Betty); and granddaughters, Cassie Sheridan, Lauren Carson, and Monica Carson. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Tuesday, January 6 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. They will also have a visitation from 10-11am prior to the 11am funeral service at Grimes Memorial UMC, 4649 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Memorial contributions may be sent to Grimes Memorial UMC.
