Robert Dale Grant, 64, of Arlington, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012. He was preceded in death by two of his children, Walter Lionel Grant and Kelly Anne Grant. He leaves behind, his loving wife of 43 years, Jeannette Peabody Grant, children, Heather Lynn Alcott and Walter Glenn Grant, sisters, Robyn Edmiston and Sandi Johnson, grandchildren, Alex Grant, Amber Grant, Noah Grant, Gavin Grant, Savannah Grant, Emillio Burguos, Megan Alcott, and Owen Alcott, and eleven nieces and nephews. Mr. Grant was a retired Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving his time aboard the U.S.S. America. He was a police officer for 29 years for the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 2nd from 1-3pm with a funeral service starting at 3pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
