Robert C. Herr Jr.

ROBERT C. HERR, JR., 86, of Atoka, TN, died after a brief illness on February 6, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathryn Bernice Herr; three children, Robert C. Herr III of Mt. Vernon, IL, Margaret Annette Marioni of Atoka, TN, Stephen Herr of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, David C. Herr. He was a veteran of WWII and served with the 8th Army Air Force in England completing 26 missions with the 381st Bombardment Group, 532nd Squadron in 1945. He was a retiree of the Memphis, Light, Gas and Water Division with 30 years of service. He continued working as an electrical engineer for several years. He was a Catholic and served his church through various organizations such as the Men’s Club and Scouting. Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 8 from 5-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 9 at St. Ann Bartlett. Burial will follow in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (formerly Memory Hill Gardens).
