Robert Leonard Zimmerman, 65, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was a lifetime resident of Memphis, a 1965 graduate of Overton High School and a retiree of Memphis Light, Gas & Water. "Leo" was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend to many. His greatest passions were bowling, golf and anything outdoors - especially 'just a swangin'. He leaves his wife of 41 years, Joan Robertson Zimmerman of Cordova; two daughters, Ginger Zimmerman of Hanover, MA and Tracie Zimmerman of Memphis; his sister Shirley Bowser of Pennsylvania and mother-in-law Virginia Robertson of Madison, MS. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8 from 12 pm until service time at 2 pm, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (Germantown Chapel). Burial will follow service.
